Frauke Gerlach (Dr. phil.) is director of the Grimme Institute and managing director of the Grimme Research College at the University of Cologne. A fully qualified lawyer, she was legal advisor to the Bündnis 90/Die Grünen parliamentary group in the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia from 1998 to 2014. She has volunteered as chairwoman of the Media Commission of the State Media Authority NRW and as chairwoman of the Supervisory Board of the Film and Media Foundation NRW. Frauke Gerlach is a member of the University Council of the University of Cologne and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Theodor Wolff Prize.
