Heike Matthiesen graduated from the Frankfurt Musikhochschule and began playing in the Frankfurt Opera Orchestra two years later.  After graduating, she became a master student of Pepe Romero, who opened the way for her transformation into a world-class soloist. Her four published solo CDs bear witness to her musical range. Heike Matthiesen marketed her last two albums herself. She represents a new type of artist: communicative, polyglot and internet-savvy (her videos have more than 2 000 000 clicks on Youtube), she makes direct contact with the public on her social media channels and thus sees an additional way to act as an ambassador for classical music and the guitar.   

Heike Matthiesen regularly gives courses on social media and Spotify for classical musicians, is involved in classical music networks such as the BYOM Academy and is an honorary board member of the Archiv Frau und Musik in Frankfurt, the world's largest collection of works by female composers.
