Jürgen Kraus was born in Erlangen on June 25, 1969. Since March 2022, he has been the head of programming at stations WDR 2 and WDR 4. He has already been working at WDR since October 2014, serving among other things in the WDR steering group "Digital Transformation" and as head of the main department "Program Management NWK".

Previously, Jürgen Kraus was head of music at Antenne Bayern (2009 -2014) and head of programming at "Die Neue 107.7" (2000 - 2008). Before that, he worked as a presenter and program staff member at several Bavarian private stations and as news CvD at mdr-life. 1987-1989 he completed a traineeship at "Radio Downtown".
