Omeima Garci

Journalist

Growing up in the Wilhelmsburg district of Hamburg, Omeima Garci manages to combine her love for politics and music at an early age.

In addition to her theater group VTUU (much theater around us), which is committed to political education and inclusive memory work, the politics student and scholarship holder of the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation is, among other things, an editor in the youth editorial office ''jung genug'' and also journalistic in the U21 team of Tincon and freelance at Bremen Next.

Omeima also loves researching, moderating and everything else that belongs to journalism:

In her podcasts Gastgedanken and G-Talk, she also takes rap as a starting point to talk about bigger issues. For example, she spoke with rapper Ahzumjot about "not being enough" in a consumer society and discussed how we can change the school system with Booz. At the Leuphana University conference week, she spoke with Dr. Reyhan Şahin, known as Lady Bitch Ray, about institutional racism in universities or with sociologist Gerald Knaus and activist Mattea Weihe about migration.
